The Family Haven

Simplicity and detailed craftsmanship

A restful foundation

The essence of this garden is design simplicity coupled with precisely detailed craftsmanship. A muted palette of materials creates a restful foundation for the abundant purple and white planting, which softens the crisp contemporary lines.

The statement Heptacodium Miconioides (seven son flower tree) draws the eye out and creates a punctuation point. The distinctive honey-coloured bark echoes the Cedar fence panels. It’s a space dedicated to dining and relaxation with four separate seating zones.

The garden flows seamlessly from the kitchen with the same paving throughout making it expansive and easy to enjoy for all the family.

Lighting

Subtle lighting softly illuminates the planting. Frothy lime green Hydrangea paniculata ‘Limelight’ is brought to the fore as the charcoal backdrop recedes into the night.

Flow

This garden connects effortlessly to the interior. We have blurred the boundary, partly by keeping the threshold on the same level, as well as unifying the porcelain for both interior and exterior, creating an expansive and accessible space for entertaining.

“Georgia really takes the time to understand you and your wishes. Nothing is imposed, there is no ‘hang on I’m the artist here, I know best’ (although she definitely does!). At the same time, we were constantly, pleasantly surprised by her vision and ability to add subtle touches and detail throughout the project. Any revisions we made, she was incredibly creative and accommodating. It's really lovely working with someone who treats the project with real passion and obvious joy.”
